My husband and I engaged Sicato in February 2010 to design and build our house in Millwater, Silverdale. Being first time builders with a baby on the way we were nervous to undertake such a large project, however from our very first meeting, Simon instilled us with confidence and walked us through the entire process step by step.
Simon’s always pleasant, professional manner and great communication skills made our experience painless, calm and positive. We could always get hold of him when we needed to, and he would meet with us where ever, whenever we requested. We were regularly updated around the status of the budget and were kept very well informed about timelines. Being heavily pregnant toward the end of our build, Simon would often go above and beyond his brief, and would even source and drop off samples, which at the time was over 45 minutes out of his way.
Sicato’s standard specification was flexible and very generous - there were only a handful of items that we wanted to upgrade. This was a refreshing change given our early dealings with other larger design and build companies during our initial investigations. Any additional work was always priced quickly and agreed upfront. The suppliers that we had direct contact with were all very friendly, helpful and patient and were a delight to work with.
The quality of Simon’s workmanship is unsurpassed – we are so appreciative of his eye for detail – and his uncanny ability to steer you in the right direction while still respecting your opinion as owners. We have achieved an amazing result and are absolutely thrilled with our new home. We have no hesitation in recommending Sicato to others and look forward to working with Simon and his team on our next build project.

In 2003 I moved into my first house built by Sicato Residential, a house which I bought off the plans. Having the house built, with input by myself into the colours and kitchen/bathroom designs and hard landscaping was “fun” and far from stressful.
As a consequence, in 2007 I approached Sicato to build a new home for me. Simon project managed the whole project, even attending architect’s meetings with me and providing design advice and recommendations during the build for improvements. During the build (2008) I was working out of Auckland. Simon kept me updated via phone or email and made himself available to meet me on site at weekends when I was unable to meet during the week. Colleagues and friends have been amazed by how smoothly the build went and even more amazed when they have seen the finished product.
My next house will most certainly be built by Sicato and I have no hesitation in recommending them to any one considering having a new home built.

Our previous experience with building proved frustrating and stressful, however building with Simon Bird and Sicato Residential Ltd was a completely different experience.
From first signing the contract to handing over the keys to our home, Simon was professional and well organised. Communication was excellent and we were always kept well informed throughout the building process. We were given plenty of notice when decisions had to be made, together with as much advice as we wanted. We felt Simon genuinely had our best interests in mind.
We are extremely impressed with the high standard at which our house was finished, this exceeded our expectations and beleive this sets Sicato Residential apart from the rest. We are thrilled with the final result. We would certainly build with Sicato Residential again and confidently recommend them to other people.
