In 2014, my husband and I were looking for a house to buy in the Millwater area and we were both drawn to the look of a house that we had seen which was built by Simon’s team from SICATO Residential.We then engaged SICATO Residential to build our dream home, they were absolutely fantastic to deal with, everything worked out very well from start to finish, there were a couple of things which we wanted to change or upgrade and Simon kept us very well informed about the cost. He was very professional and very well organised. We always received emails from Simon to keep us updated about construction and timing, and we would often meet him onsite during the weekends when we were available. The advice and assistance provided by Simon and his team has been incredibly helpful, and the end result was exactly what we would have expected, a beautiful home with very high standard quality finish.We both would like to express our appreciation to Simon and his team in achieving our dream home. We met a few builders and went to a couple of show homes in Millwater when we were looking to build our new home, but once we met Simon and the team at SICATO Residential we no longer needed to look elsewhere. Simon is a very reliable person – he is certainly someone you can trust, and gives you honest professional advice. He always patiently answered our questions. The team at SICATO Residential is awesome; they all have a great attitude and passion for their work. Everyone was very professional, friendly and helpful. This makes site visits very pleasant and we were always warmly welcomed by the team and felt free to stay and chat about the progress. The reason we chose SICATO is because of their very high standards and attention to small details. The house was finished as scheduled with an outstanding finish.

In 2003 I moved into my first house built by SICATO Residential, a house which I bought off the plans. Having the house built, with input by myself into the colours and kitchen/bathroom designs and hard landscaping was “fun” and far from stressful.
As a consequence, in 2007 I approached SICATO to build a new home for me. Simon project managed the whole project, even attending architect’s meetings with me and providing design advice and recommendations during the build for improvements. During the build (2008) I was working out of Auckland. Simon kept me updated via phone or email and made himself available to meet me on site at weekends when I was unable to meet during the week. Colleagues and friends have been amazed by how smoothly the build went and even more amazed when they have seen the finished product.
My next house will most certainly be built by SICATO and I have no hesitation in recommending them to any one considering having a new home built.

Our previous experience with building proved frustrating and stressful, however building with Simon Bird and SICATO Residential Ltd was a completely different experience.
From first signing the contract to handing over the keys to our home, Simon was professional and well organised. Communication was excellent and we were always kept well informed throughout the building process. We were given plenty of notice when decisions had to be made, together with as much advice as we wanted. We felt Simon genuinely had our best interests in mind.
We are extremely impressed with the high standard at which our house was finished, this exceeded our expectations and beleive this sets SICATO Residential apart from the rest. We couldn’t be happier to own a Sicato home. When we began looking around Milldale and Millwater, the Sicato listing immediately stood out — we kept coming back to it as the benchmark against every other property we saw. The quality of the build, the thoughtful layout, and the clean, modern aesthetic really set it apart.
When we met Simon at one of his open homes, he mentioned another build in progress that might better suit our needs and budget. Even though it was only at the framing stage, we could already see it was the right home for us. From that point on, the process was smooth and straightforward. Simon was open, communicative, and fair throughout negotiations, and once we reached an agreement, everything moved efficiently from there.
Because the home was still under construction, Simon gave us the flexibility to personalise key details such as colours, tiles, and finishes. He coordinated everything seamlessly with his design consultant and suppliers, making the experience easy and enjoyable. The build itself was impressively fast, without any compromise on the high standard Sicato is known for. Before we knew it, we were holding the keys to our beautiful new home.
The after-sale experience has been equally positive. Simon and his team have been incredibly responsive, addressing any minor maintenance items quickly and without fuss. As we’ve added features like a shed, a louvre roof over the deck, and artificial turf, Simon has continued to offer helpful advice and insight on everything from drainage to layout — support that goes well beyond the typical builder–client relationship.
Overall, we’re absolutely thrilled with our decision to buy a Sicato home. It’s a beautiful, well-built space that we’re proud to raise our family. We’re often asked who built our home, and every time we’re proud to say — it’s a Sicato.

Recently I had the occasion to inspect a property you constructed at 8 Henl Drive in Milldale.
Immediately on arriving I was struck with the impression that this inspection would be something different than the usual. The attention to detail, standard of workmanship and the overall quality of materials was exemplary. It’s rare to say the least that I find this example of fine homebuilding anywhere.
From the landscaping, exterior claddings to the interior finishes and fittings the detailing is superb. It’s truly refreshing to see there is Pride of Workmanship left in the industry.
I have no hesitation in recommending this company in this capacity.
